Finding the right photographer for you

Couple looking the ocean in Sydney

Why is this important to find the right photographer for your personality?

Finding the right photographer as a couple means spending a lot of time researching and considering your preferences to make sure your photographer’s work aligns with your style and personality. Every photographer has a different approach when it comes to capturing luxury weddings and the very first step for couples is to decide on the style of wedding photography they are drawn to, for example an editorial touch versus a documentary or an artistic style - you may be looking for a blend of these styles - and to gauge whether the photographer’s work resonates with who they are as a couple as well as individuals.

Every details counts, not only the photographer’s overall aesthetics but also the artist’s composition, storytelling ability, creativity, tones he/she gravitate towards to ensure his approach matches what the couple wants their photos to reflect and ensure that their vision will be captured beautifully and authentically.

The connection and level of confort with your photographer is also really important as it could affect the quality of the photos. Their level of responsiveness, willingness to address your questions and concerns will help determine their involvement and how far they are willing to go to document your story. Then the  level of experience and skills to photograph weddings with a similar style and scale. Luxury wedding photography often requires a high level of experience and skill. Ask about their experience shooting weddings, especially those of a similar scale and style to yours.

Viewing complete wedding albums can give you a more accurate picture of the photographer's storytelling ability. This helps you assess their consistency in delivering quality images throughout an entire wedding day.

Incredible venues in Provence

Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild at Saint Jean Cap Ferrat

Imagine saying ‘I do’ surrounded by lavender fields, vineyards, and the golden light of Provence…

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Europe, there’s probably no setting more idyllic than Provence. Other than perhaps California and Tuscany, Provence offers some of the most exceptional golden light in the world, softly diffused over the landscape before sunset.

CHATEAU DE TOURREAU

With its avenue of ancient plane trees, its beautiful 18th-century façade in pastel tones, its enchanting park offering many options for your ceremony, dinner reception and Cocktail Hour, Chateau de Tourreau is one of our favorites for a destination wedding in the heart of Provence. Its 8-hectare grounds are magnificent and include an orchard, manicured gardens with a swimming pool and tennis courts, flowing streams and a small lake that add to the charm of the place. But what really makes Chateau de Tourreau stand out is its intimate historic chapel, which is able to accommodate up to 70 people. The venue offers 9 rooms in the Chateau (sleeping up to 15 people) and 7 rooms (for 14 people) in the renovated farm. A minimum stay of 3-night is required for weddings.

BASTIDE DE GORDES

Another favorite Provençal venue is La Bastide de Gordes. Located in the heart of the village of Gordes, the hotel is part of the Airelles Collection. With its timeless charm, sweeping views of the Luberon Valley and unparalleled location, it's impossible not to be won over by this highly desirable wedding venue that offers 34 rooms, 6 suites and a private villa. In terms of event space, a fantastic setting for the ceremony, reception dinner and Cocktail Hour is the garden (which can be fully or partially privatized, along with 8 bedrooms) as well as the pool area. There is also an Orangerie, which is perfect for drinks and dancing, but also as an alternative if it starts to rain. The terrace of the hotel is the ideal place for your welcome party or for drinks before the reception dinner. La Bastide de Gordes offers you Provence at its best, with impeccable service, exceptional surroundings and the incomparable French art de vivre.

LE GALINIER

Located in the charming village of Lourmarin, Le Galinier is a picturesque destination venue for those looking to host an intimate and authentic wedding in the South of France. The 18th-century Bastide is a typical Provençal country house set in a 3-hectare wooded and flowered park. It offers 9 accommodations in 3 houses with a total of 16 bedrooms and a capacity of 32 people. The pond area is the perfect place to seal your vows. Cocktail Hour can be held in the courtyard and the dinner reception by the gorgeous swimming pool, under a marquee if the weather is uncertain.
